HOW TO ARRIVE IN TO KALAMATA

By car:
Kalamata is 238 km from Athens. From Athens you can reach Kalamata if you follow the highway. Athens-Corinth-Tripoli, then follow the Tripoli- Megalopoli- Kalamata route. The distance from Athens is 238 km. From Patra you can reach Kalamata if you follow the highway. Patras-Corinth-Tripoli, and then follow the Tripoli-Megalopolis-Kalamata route. The distance is 286 km. From Patra you can reach Kalamata and through highway. Patras - Pyrgos. Then follow the road to Amaliada and before you reach Kyparissia, turn to Kalo Nero with direction Kalamata. There is a sign that you can follow. The distance is 209 km.

Daily bus routes are available from Athens, Patras, Ioannina and Thessaloniki towards Kalamata. There are also regular train connections from Athens and Patras to Kalamata.
You can also reach Kalamata by plain from the airport in Athens El. Venizelos,also from Thessaloniki and Heraklion. There are flights 3 times a week. Also, the prefecture is connected by coast with Kythera and Kissamos of Chania.
